Mark is in Madrid!!

Yesterday evening Mark landed in Madrid 15 minutes after the scheduled time. He had me (at the airport) and Guillermo (at Plaza de Alonso Martínez) waiting for him as if he were a star :) [not surprisingly, since he has been promoted to head of the semiconductors etc. etc. section of the photonics group, with about 10 students working for him! :))].

He came out of the arrivals gate at 9.15pm (see picture) and we met Guillermo at ten. We had dinner in a Mexican restaurant. After a short drive down Paseo de Recoletos from Plaza de Colón to the Palace Hotel at Plaza de Cánovas del Castillo, I said goodbye and walked home while they continued their journey to Leganés and Fuenlabrada.

I think we had a good time. It was nice to meet Mark again and catch up on the little changes that have gone on in Cambridge since I left. Nobody says much.
